We create pathways for students from historically under resourced communities, from classroom to economic self-reliance.
In 2017, Sheetal was part of the very first batch of SRI's programme in Kosli, Rewari. Coming from a family dependent on agriculture, with six members and a single earning parent, the odds were not in her favour.
With SRI's early academic support, Sheetal built a strong foundation and went on to secure admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. From there, she continued to work towards her goals, eventually preparing for one of India's toughest entrance examinations.
Through mentorship from the Dakshina Foundation, accessed through her JNV journey and SRI's Alumni engagement, Sheetal secured an All India Rank of 1227 in JEE in the SC category. Today, she is pursuing Mechanical Engineering at IIT Kanpur.
Sheetal's journey shows what can happen when strong foundations are followed by the right opportunities and support. From a small village in Haryana to IIT, her journey has opened doors not only for her, but for what may be possible for her family in the years to come.

The support continues beyond the classroom
Getting into a good school is an important step, but it is not the end of the journey. As students move into higher education and towards careers, new challenges and opportunities emerge.
We regularly reach out to students to understand where they are and how they are doing.
We identify academic, financial, career and other challenges that may affect their next steps.
We work with partners and organisations to connect students with scholarships, mentorship, skill development and other forms of support.
By staying connected over time, we understand what helps students move forward and where additional support is needed.
The goal is simple: to make sure that a student's journey towards opportunity does not end when they leave school.
Our alumni are moving towards higher education, careers and greater independence. Some need financial support. Others need mentorship, skills, technology or simply access to the right opportunity at the right time.
