Saajhedaari
Programme.
“You bring the trust. We bring the system. Together, we build the pathway.”
Across India, organisations are already working closely with children and communities that are often underserved by the formal education system. They understand the local context, have built trust with families and have people on the ground who know the children they work with.
But helping children access better educational opportunities requires more than reach. Students need strong foundations, structured preparation, the right learning resources and regular support.
The Saajhedaari Programme brings these strengths together. Through Saajhedaari, SRI partners with NGOs and grassroots organisations that already work with children and communities. Partner organisations bring their local presence, relationships and existing programmes. SRI brings the academic model, curriculum, assessments, technology, training and ongoing support.
Together, we help children build the skills and confidence they need to access opportunities that can change the course of their education.
You Already Have the Children. We Help Build the Pathway.
Every year, organisations like yours work with children who have the potential to go further. Some may have what it takes to qualify for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Sainik Schools or Eklavya Schools. But potential alone is not enough. Students need structured preparation, the right learning resources, regular assessments and someone to help them navigate the process.
That is where Saajhedaari begins. You bring the relationships, community presence and people who already know the children. SRI brings the academic system, curriculum, assessments, technology and ongoing support needed to turn that potential into opportunity.
The partnership works through your existing centres, programmes and teams. There is no need to build a parallel structure. The idea is simple: when local knowledge and academic support come together, more children can get a chance to go further.
What You Bring. What SRI Brings.
You bring:
- Local presence and trusted community relationships
- Existing centres and programmes
- Teachers and coordinators
- Student identification and enrolment
- Parent and community engagement
SRI brings:
- Structured curriculum and academic planning
- Books, worksheets and assessments
- Teacher training and academic mentoring
- Monitoring technology and dashboards
- Field mentoring and exam-day support
- Support with documentation and examination processes
Together, these create a structured pathway from foundational learning to residential school opportunities.

Stories from Our Saajhedaars

Parivaar Education Society: Breaking Barriers to Residential School Education
Since 2023–24, SRI has partnered with Parivaar Education Society through its Seva Kutir Programme across 26+ districts in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. Together, the partnership prepares Class 5 students for entrance into JNVs, EMRS, Kanya Shiksha Parisar and other residential schools.
Through structured workbooks, teacher guides, Daily Test Series and regular OMR practice, SRI supports students to build exam readiness, problem-solving skills and confidence. SRI's field trainers also work closely with 1,300+ Parivaar teachers, strengthening classroom practices and mentoring coordinators through regular visits and feedback.
The impact has grown significantly. Selections into special residential schools increased from 274 students in 2023–24 to 1,478 in 2026–27, while JNV selections grew from 15 to 98 students during the same period.
The partnership demonstrates how sustained academic support, teacher capacity building and strong field-level implementation can expand access to high-quality residential school opportunities at scale.
“Our experience with Self Reliant India has been very good and positive.”

Asha Foundation: Expanding Access to Residential School Opportunities
Since 2024, SRI has partnered with Asha Foundation to support children from Dalit communities in Vibhutipur block, Samastipur, Bihar, preparing for the highly competitive Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya entrance examination.
In a district known for high cutoffs and intense competition, the partnership focuses on strengthening students' academic preparation, confidence and exam readiness through structured support.
The results are encouraging. One student was selected for JNV in 2025–26, followed by three selections in 2026–27. Beyond these selections, students have shown significant improvement in their overall learning levels, with several coming close to the JNV cutoff.
SRI also works closely with Asha Foundation's teachers through regular touchpoints, providing academic guidance and supporting implementation on the ground.
The partnership demonstrates how sustained academic support and close collaboration with local organisations can help children overcome barriers to high-quality educational opportunities.
“Working with Self Reliant India has been a great experience for us.”
